تبلیغات گسترده ی نازی ها تاثیر بسیار زیادی بر روی مردم آلمان داشت و این تبلیغات اعتقادات ناسیونالیستی نسل جوان آلمان را شکل داد.مظفر مالک،سفیر ایران در آلمان که در زمان حکومت نازی ها در این کشور حضور داشت در کتاب خود(ظهور نازیسم و استیلای هیتلر)می نویسد:
((با شروع تعرض نیروهای آلمان به لهستان در اول سپتامبر 1939 و متعاقبا اعلان جنگ دولت های انگلیس وفرانسه به آلمان،بنا بر دستور هیتلر،شنیدن اخبار رادیو های خارجی ممنوع و مستوجب مجازات می شد و دستگاه تبلیغات نازیسم به تشریح زیان های آن کار غیر مجاز و عواقب آن می پرداخت.اما افراد کنجکاو مخفیانه از طریق رادیو های خارجی اطلاعاتی کسب وبه نزدیکان خود می رساندند.در ماه نوامبر همان سال نویسنده نویسنده در برلین و در همسایگی خانواده ای منزل داشت.پدر آن خانواده که در جبهه های جنگ جهانی اول جنگیده و سختی ها وعواقب آن را دیده بود،شب ها به رادیو لندن گوش می داد و از آینده نگران بود و ضمنا پسر شانزده ساله اش که او را- بنا به دستور پیشوا- از شنیدن اخبار رادیو های خارجی منع و تهدید می نمود نزد نویسنده شکایت می کرد.سحرگاه روزی در راهرو مشترک هر دو منزل رفت و آمد و صدایی غیر عادی شنیدم،بنا به اظهارمادر خانواده معلوم شد که پسرشان،به دنبال مشاجره ی سختی با پدرش واعتراض به عدم اطاعت ازامر پیشوا،مراتب را به پلیس بخش گزارش داده و موجب دستگیری پدر شده است. دو سه روز بعد نویسنده در برخوردی با همان پسر جویای حال شده و و تند و کوتاه جواب شنیدم که اطاعت از امر پیشوا واجب و سرپیچی از آن خیانت است
